Importing and exporting your data
Bring contacts and custom-field values in from CSV or Excel, and take reports and data out whenever you want.
You can import records from CSV or Excel files, including values for your custom fields - so a spreadsheet column like “Insurance type” lands in the matching custom field, validated on the way in.
Rows that fail validation are reported so you can fix and retry; valid rows import normally.
Exporting
Any report in the Report Builder exports to CSV or Excel, custom fields included. That covers everything from a simple contact list to filtered, aggregated views. For programmatic access, scoped API tokens let your own tools read and write through the API.
Tips for clean imports
- Create your custom fields first, then import - so columns have a destination.
- Use one row per record and keep a header row with clear column names.
- Dates import most reliably in ISO format (yyyy-mm-dd).
- Run a small test file first, check the result, then import the rest.
